dragonsroar: megumiovvo: Let me tell you about this woman. I saw her walking down the stairs and away from the convention center on Sunday at Anime Expo. For those of you who do not know, she’s cosplaying as Sophie from Howl’s Moving Castle. I asked to take her picture and she happily complied. After, she told us that it’s hard to her to find cosplays because she’s in her eighties.  This woman is over 80 years old and she’s cosplaying, going to conventions, and being amazing.  Props to this wonderful woman for her wonderful cosplay and time. THIS LADY WAS WONDERFUL
I was looking around for a bit about tomb raider (because of the new scavenger hunt for pre-orders to win some prizes/dlc) http://trscavenger.com. One question was ‘what island is the game taking place on’ and i answered correctly, but i used the collectors edition MAP image (posted above^) and i saw that it said Himiko’s Castle, and i did some reading on the Eye Witness book for japan and it was talking about himiko that ruled the island the game takes place on (Yamatai). Turns out Queen Himiko was a queen of Wa long long ago, so that peaked my interest and did some more looking. Turns out the island is mysterious, no one really knows where the island is (still up for debate). The eye witness book was also talking about kyushu as queen himikos last known location, and some artifacts date back 40,000 years, so lets just say i love tomb raider and i LOVE japan, so im soooooo excited what i learned! just reading the fine print on the map of the island were given. <3 P.S. in some ancient Chinese writings of Queen Himiko, they said she was fond of magic and the like <3 oooooo can’t wait to see if any magic monsters are in the game (that one fully decorated samurai bursting out of a castle seems like a good candidate for magic in the survivor trailer <3) http://ca.ign.com/videos/2012/12/10/tomb-raider-survivor-trailer
